Where are RSS feeds used?
RSS feeds are often used on news sites because they provide a direct link with the publication of news articles. RSS was first introduced in the classic RSS feed format, later feeds were also offered in "atom" format, which meant that more meta data could be supported.
In an RSS feed, general information of the publisher relating to the feed is provided, such as internet address, short description of the website and possibly a logo. Beneath this general information the articles are listed, with the title, link to the full article on the website and often a short description of the news article.
