What is an RSS feed?

An RSS feed is a method of exchanging database driven website data more easily. RSS is often used on news websites whereby, in addition to publishing new articles online, a summary of the article is published directly in the RSS feed.

RSS feeds are used by automated systems, so websites can read automated data. But RSS feeds can also be used by end users, who use their RSS reader to stay up to date with the latest news, trends or new product releases in their favourite online store.
